Trekking on Africa’s highest point, the 5896-meter-tall “rooftop of Africa,” is an adventure of a lifetime. More importantly, though, anyone can climb the freezing summit if the pace is correct, regardless of skill level. Upon entering the park, the lower altitudes are first covered by dense lowland woodland, after which, as the air becomes thinner, alpine meadows take their place. Second, towards the summit, the landscape is harsh and dry, with ice and rocks dominating a spectacular view of Africa.
