Detailed Itinerary.
Day 1: Arrival – Transfer to Volcanoes National Park.
When you arrive at Kigali International Airport, you will meet our tour guide. Following the trip briefing, he or she will immediately transfer you to Volcanoes National Park. This is a three-hour trip to Kinigi, the park headquarters, over a lovely and scenic route north.
Accommodation: Sambora Kinigi, Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge, Virunga Hotel.
Meals: (Lunch, Dinner).
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park.
After an early breakfast, you will meet with other trackers at Kinigi headquarters for a briefing on the day’s gorilla trekking. At 8:00 a.m., all trackers will transfer to the gorilla trekking paths in the foothills. When you encounter the gorillas, you will have at least an hour to interact with them before leaving the forest. In the afternoon, you can explore I’byiwacu Cultural Village or take a nature walk to the twin lakes of Bulera and Ruhondo.

Day 3: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park.
Proceed via Lake Kivu and Kibuye to reach Nyungwe Forest. The drive takes about seven hours. You begin a canopy walk from the Uwinka Park information centre if you’re not too tired from the lengthy drive.
Accommodation: One&Only Nyungwe House, Nyungwe Top View Hill Hotel, Ken Berham.
Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).
Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking in Nyungwe – Transfer to Kigali.
You can track chimpanzees in the nearby Chamudongo Forest or the major Nyungwe Forest. Transfer to Kigali after tracking. The drive takes six hours.
Accommodation: Kigali Serena Hotel, Kigali Marriott Hotel.

Day 5: Transfer to Akagera National Park
Transfer to Akagera National Park early in the morning for the 9:00 am game drive.
Accommodation: Magashi Camp, Akagera Game Lodge, Mihindi Camp.
Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).
Day 6: Morning Game Drive – Return to Kigali.
A game drive begins at 7:00 am and ends at 11:00 am. The Big Five; lions, elephants, buffalo, rhinos, and leopards will likely be visible. For your night time international flight, head back to Kigali in the afternoon.
