The 3 Days Uganda Safari to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park begins and concludes in Kampala. However, we can start in Kampala and finish in Kigali, or vice versa. The excursion takes you to Bwindi Gorilla National Park in southern Uganda, which is Africa’s top mountain gorilla trekking location. The park is home to half of the world’s remaining mountain gorilla population, with 19 gorilla families currently habituated for tourism.
Detailed Itinerary.
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Our expert English-speaking tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe Airport and drive you to Western Uganda. En route, stop at the Equator for photos, then lunch in Mbarara (Igongo Cultural Centre) before continuing via the Kigezi region, sometimes known as the “Switzerland of Africa” due to its majestic rolling hills, deep valleys, and meandering roads.
Accommodation: Rushaga Gorilla Lodge, Lake Mutanda Resort, Chameleon Hill Lodge.
Meals: (Lunch, Dinner).
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience – Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi.
Begin the day with a hearty breakfast at the lodge before meeting at the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing in Bwindi National Park. You must be physically fit to go gorilla trekking in the Bwindi Rainforest. The walk takes between 2 and 7 hours, depending on how these Gentle Giants move in their native habitat! It is strongly advised to hire a porter for the hike to carry your rucksack, packed lunch and camera equipment. This is one way that gorilla tourism generates employment prospects in local communities.
A once-in-a-lifetime journey, seeing these gentle giants in their native habitat will take away all the bad memories you had while looking for them. Enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to spend an hour with the gorillas, learn about their ways of life, and take pictures. Drive to the stunning Lake Bunyonyi for dinner and an overnight stay after relaxing for lunch and resting at the resort.
Accommodation: Bunyonyi Overland Resort, Birds Nest Resort, Arcadia Cottages..
Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).
Day 3: Return to Kampala – Departure
After breakfast, you can take a boat excursion around Lake Bunyonyi’s stunning islands. Return around 10 am and take a 7-hour trip back to Kampala/Entebbe Airport for your departing flight, or take a 3-hour drive across the Katuna border to Rwanda’s Kigali International Airport. Here, we have the chance to go to Kigali’s Gisozi Genocide Memorial Museum.
