4 Days Rwanda Primate Tracking Safari

Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park.

On this day, after breakfast, you will meet a Judith Safaris tour guide who will take you on a Kigali city tour. Our professional tour guide will take you to the many attractions you want to see during this Kigali city trip. You will visit the Kandt House or Museum of Natural History, where Dr. Richard Kandt, the first German colonial resident of Rwanda, lived, a presidential museum, which is the residence of two former Rwandan Presidents, and the Kigali Genocide Memorial Site, which commemorates the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. Kigali is Rwanda’s capital city and the country’s dynamic commercial centre. With an all-year-round temperate temperature, you may visit at any time of year. Following the city tour, you will be taken to Volcanoes National Park.

Accommodation: Sambora Kinigi, Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge, Virunga Hotel.

Meals: (Lunch, Dinner).

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park.

After an early breakfast, our driving guide will pick you up and transport you to the Park Headquarters for a lecture on what to do and not do while on the hike. Note that gorilla trekking begins at 7:30 a.m., so you can enjoy Rwandan hospitality with traditional dances and a nice Rwandan coffee before the walk begins. Depending on the location of the gorilla family you will hike with, the driving guide will take you to the trailhead for the designated gorilla group.

Meeting gorillas can take anything from one to several hours, depending on how they wander across the jungle in search of food. The park administration permits guests to stay no more than an hour with the gorillas; after this time has passed, you will return to your lodging to unwind.

Accommodation: Sambora Kinigi, Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge, Virunga Hotel.

Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 3: Transfer to Lake Kivu.

Your safari travel guide will get you from the hotel on this particular day and take you to Lake Kivu for a boat excursion. This is one of the most amazing experiences on the lake since you can swim on the shores of Gisenyi, go sport fishing, and see the stunning Virunga hills, among other things.

Accommodation: Cleo Lake Kivu Hotel, Inn On The Lake, Rwiza Village.

Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 4: Return to Kigali – Departure.

On the final day of your tour, our driving guide will pick you up from your hotel after you have checked out and take you back to Kigali through the countryside, bringing your 4-day safari in Kigali, the land of a thousand hills, to an end.

Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch).
